What documents do I need in order to complete my tax return? |

In order to complete your income tax return properly, you need to make sure that you have all of the information returns for the tax year in question. These include your W-2s that totals your gross wages and associated payroll taxes withheld; 1099’s that detail the list of payments you have received from pensions, retirement account distributions, dividends and interest paid and more; as well as 1098s for your home mortgage that details the mortgage interest paid. You also need the proper documentation to complete Schedule A of the 1040, which allows you to itemize certain expenses on your tax return. |
